It is no secret that the Playstation Vita failed to make the impact that Sony expected. However, the former head of Sony Computer Entertainment America has claimed that its failure had little to do with the machine itself. In an interview with IGN, Jack Tretton described how the Vita was just too late into the portable gaming market. Citing the rise of mobile gaming, Tretton claimed that there is just no place for dedicated handheld consoles today.
